Care Plus NJJayenick moved to the United States from Haiti. Despite being in a new environment and attending a different school, she excelled in her studies. Now, she is seeking a job that accommodates her schedule. Although she is highly motivated, she lacks familial support and is currently in the care of the Department of Children and Families (DCPP).
Jayenick has brought up how schoolwork can be challenging at times due to her not having a laptop. She has been using her phone to look up assignments posted online and look up additional information for her work. She said it is stressful for her and takes up a lot more time than she expected. A laptop will help her finish her schoolwork at a better pace as well as help her apply to jobs in the future.
