Caterpillar to Butterflies is designed for foster youth aged 16 to 21 transitioning out of foster care or having already done so. The foster youth who are part of Caterpillar to Butterflies are current and former foster youth. The proposed program consists of modules or peer circles that match youth with peer mentors who have experienced foster care. The objectives of the peer circles are to (1) teach and promote independent living skills according to the individual needs and goals of the participants; (2) provide social and emotional support through intentional community bonding, and connection to community resources; (3) teach and promote Holistic Health (Mind, Body, and Spirit), Racial and Cultural Identity, and Indigenous Modes of Healing and (4) provide links to resources and services to assist in successful education and career pathways and skill development. The Caterpillars to Butterflies Peer Circles offers the following segments: Mediation, Restorative Yoga, Panel Discussions, Forest Bathing, Breathe Work, Sound Baths, Holiday Parties, a Celebration, and financial literacy!

This holiday, participants of the Caterpillar to Butterflies program will come together to celebrate the holidays. This wish will give them the opportunity to go to the store and choose something that they really want this holiday, and to remind them that someone is sending them love this holiday! There will be 20 wishes so that each participant will be able to have their own gift.
