Manuel has two pairs of shoes and both of them have holes in the toe areas because they are worn and too small. HIs mother cannot afford to buy him new shoes at this time. Manuel wishes for a new pair of sneakers for Christmas. Manuel does not care what kind of shoes they are, but his caseworker is requesting a pair of Air Force 1s for him because he is picked on at school for his lack of clothing. These sneakers would be a sturdy shoe for him to finish out the school year with and is a popular sneaker that won't get him made fun of.
