Despite her experiences in foster care, Addy demonstrates a level of ambition and responsibility well beyond her years. Her resilience continues to shine as she is constantly trying to help others and improve her community. This has included starting her own club to encourage healthier eating and leave a smaller carbon footprint; working with kids in an after-school program and being selected as a student intern at Lurie Children's Hospital, one of the most prestigious children's hospitals in the country. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from one of the best high schools in Chicago, Addy took the leap and started her college career by studying abroad in Costa Rica. She will now be attending Illinois State University and can achieve anything she puts her mind to.

Since playing a critical role in keeping her family together Addy is evermore passionate to help younger youth from similar circumstances and has the chance to mentor children living in an orphanage. She has the opportunity to go to Guatemala, with Traverse, a gap year program for young adults from foster care. While there she will also have the opportunity to explore the country. In order to do so she is in need of assistance to cover the cost for in country transportation and her entrance fees for a hike up a volcano! These life-changing experiences can truly be therapeutic for young adults who have experienced foster care and will help Addy move forward in her next steps to reaching her life goals and destination.
