He has jumped around from foster care to kinship care and hasn't had a lot of consistency in his life, but he is always looking ahead and has a positive outlook on his future. He is working on graduating high school and is planning on attending a trade school. Derik enjoys working with his hands and hopes to find a well paying job once he completes his certifications. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and is always trying new activities to keep himself focused and on track.
Derik is a sweet person who really enjoys McDonald's. They would like to treat themselves to a hamburger ever so often but do not justify it in their budget. Having a McDonald's gift card will bring Derik and their stomach joy as they are reminded how treats are a nice thing to reward for keeping on.
