Maliya is an incredible young woman who has faced an extraordinary amount of loss and trauma in her life, much more than any child should have to endure. She is currently in foster care. Despite her struggles in forming connections and her tendency to keep to herself, Maliya is a remarkably bright and affectionate young lady. Once she opens up, she is incredibly funny, quick-witted, and an all-around joy to be around!

Maliya just turned 15 and is getting her permit, starting driver's ed, and looking for a part-time job. She enjoys playing video games, basketball, and soccer. And for her birthday, she's asked for a PlayStation so she can play games with her cousin who lives three hours away. She didn't get this wish fulfilled yet but would be so happy if this dream came true.
