Anthony struggles to regulate his mind and his body which results in his acting out behaviorally in other ways when he can’t calm down. One thing his foster family has found that really helps him to regulate is sensory input and they’re hoping to make a sensory space with a special crash pad in their house/backyard that he can use whenever he needs to. Currently, Anthony only has access to his crash pad once a week when in a therapeutic room. That ability to have a crash pad right in his own house would support Anthony in better learning how to cope with and support himself when he starts to feel like he doesn’t have control over his mind and body. He is very responsive to sensory input and his weekly therapy with these sensory tools is his favorite part of the week.
