The hardest part about having been in foster care was being away from her brothers, which continues to be a challenge, but she hopes to have a consistent relationship with them one day. Katie is a single mom, who works part-time at a doctor's office and attends school to become a medical assistant.
Katie is really looking forward to senior year. She would love to be able to go to Foot Locker to shop for a new pair of sneakers to start off the new school year on the right foot! Katie typically gets hand me downs from her older sister, but it would be nice to get a pair of her own.
