Lorraine has seen her friends' LOL dolls and would like some of her own! In her placement, her foster mother is doing a wonderful job creating a positive environment for her. She is learning all about both of her familial cultures. She seems happier and loves learning from her foster mom. The LOL dolls are wonderful as they have different skin colors and hair textures, along with being tweens, which this child is rapidly approaching. Creative play across all cultures, skin colors, and dress styles will allow her to explore and learn about the diverse world we live in.
Lorraine is 10 years old and lives in NC
Lorraine is full of wonder and compassion. She is learning about who she is and how she fits into this world or ours. Her journey so far has been a difficult one, to say the least. Being biracial has its challenges, and with no familial support for her culture, she struggles with knowing how she fits into society. Despite all of this, she has a great spirit and the most beautiful smile. She is learning about the world around her and that the traumas she experienced in her early years are not how a family should grow together. Lorraine struggles with her behaviors at home and in school. She is far behind in her academics but is really putting effort in to catch up. She loves to play games, and she is very artistic. Her creative side is beautiful to watch as she grows and develops in a positive environment.
