Armando moved to the United States from Guatemala as a child and does not have family supports in the US. A little over a year ago, Armando started a job at a construction site, but on his first day of work, he fell two stories from the roof of the building and was severely injured. After months of physical therapy, medical monitoring, and home school instruction, Armando was finally able to return to school in-person, completed his senior year with his peers, and graduated high school. He currently lives independently and is working full time – a big achievement after the severity of his injuries!
