Patrick is a young man who can be described as the loving, patient and kind older brother to his sister who has developmental delays. Since a young age, Patrick has been in the care of his maternal grandmother. He has carried a lot of burdens. While in care, he has witnessed the effects drugs, addiction and instability by his family members. His days have been a delicate balance of finding the motivation to go to school or the quiet responsibilities of helping take care of his sister. Patrick has embraced his responsibilities and has shouldered his role with a great maturity.
