Alex has survived an incredibly traumatic childhood. He lived with his dad, and they were very close and had a wonderful relationship. Alex's dad was a first responder after Hurricane Katrina. His back was badly injured when he fell through two stories. Painkillers led to drug use that resulted in an overdose where Alex, seven at the time, found him, called his grandma, and he was saved. Tragically, Alex's dad overdosed again while in rehab, and it was fatal. Alex is now living safely with his uncle. Alex is a creative young man who loves animals, the outdoors, and photography. He loves to draw, build with Legos, and build model cars. He loves soapstone carving and charcoal drawing.
