1999 CollectiveKatie is a super bubbly, warm young woman who just started the nursing program at a four-year school. She is a mentor to other youth in foster care and has participated in many advocacy activities in the state and nationally, she enjoys advocating for those in the foster care system in her free time when she is not in school.
Through no fault of her own, Katie lost her housing earlier this year and has been couch surfing with friends while maintaining mostly A’s in her nursing program. She has been unable to work many hours at her job due to her school being full-time and requiring her to complete unpaid shadowing hours as part of her training to become a CNA. This wish will help alleviate the stress of food insecurity for Katie as she finishes her nursing program. This wish was split into two parts to help Katie get by for a while. This is wish 2 of 2.
