Melissandra is focused on earning her GED, finding a full-time job, and maintaining a clean and comfortable apartment of her own. She has worked hard to make her house a comfortable home for herself. The last thing she needs is window shades for her apartment. Her apartment faces the street and is on the first floor. Currently, passersby on the street can look right into her home, which makes her uncomfortable, especially given the foot traffic on her NYC block. She needs shades to ensure her privacy and make her space a wonderful place to live.
