Kiasia is 21 years old and lives in OR
Kiasia is an incredibly resilient young woman who entered foster care at the age of 14. She had dropped out of 8th grade to care for her twin infant siblings after their mother abandoned them due to a substance use disorder. Despite these challenges, Kiasia went on to graduate from high school and earned a Beat the Odds Scholarship. Currently, she is studying Public Relations and Nonprofit Management and is passionate about helping her community and advocating for the needs of foster youth and the BIPOC community. Kiasia is a caring sister, niece, peer mentor, and friend to many. She has been working since the age of 16 and recently achieved a 4.0 GPA in her most recent college term. She also loves writing and aspires to publish her own memoir someday.
