Juanita is a bright young lady who has had many years of experience in the foster care system. She recently moved out into her own apartment all by herself which shows her strength, drive, and desire. She loves to watch movies especially scary movies because she loves the adrenaline rush! Enchiladas are her favorite type of food and she's learning to make them in her new apartment home!

Juanita is currently enrolled in an Extended Foster Care Program, where she is learning to live independently. It is her first time having her own living space, and it has been an amazing learning experience. Juanita is doing her best to work and go to school while also saving up for her home essentials. One unexpected item she needs to purchase is an air conditioner. Saving up for kitchen supplies, food, daily expenses, and other essential needs makes it extremely difficult for her to afford an air conditioner. To make matters worse, the heat has been picking up in San Bernardino County, with temperatures rising above 100 degrees and an emergency heat advisory in place. Although she has a box fan, it only works temporarily, fanning hot air around her home. Getting a small air conditioner is an urgent need that would help Juanita maintain a safe temperature in her home. Her wish is to be able to comfortably enjoy coming back home to relax after a day of school and work without the risk of dehydration and heat exhaustion.
