Shirley is a foster youth who came to the U.S. a few years ago as an unaccompanied child seeking safety. Since arriving, she has been focused on learning English and doing well in school. After high school, she hopes to pursue higher education and become a children's attorney. Shirley is sociable and has made many friends at school. She attended a volleyball summer camp with the goal of making it onto her high school volleyball team. She is known for being polite, respectful, and cooperative. Shirley is open to participating in extracurricular youth programs to help her transition from the foster care system to adulthood. She also cooperates with her foster parents and follows their house rules and expectations.
