A laptop for Nyla who wants to apply for jobs and plans to take online college courses
Nyla, 19 years old
Wish submitted by:
Preferred Behavioral Health GroupNyla was placed in foster care with her two younger sisters and they now reside with their great aunt in a two bedroom townhouse. They have attended several court dates in order to determine where they will be living in the near future as their great aunt is elderly and reports to have raised her, now adult children. Nyla and her younger sisters constantly wonder where they will reside as their father has made attempts to care for them, however, the courts do not feel he is capable, and their mother has been incarcerated. Nyla enjoys dancing, drawing, listening to music, and watching movies.
Nyla is facing challenges in accessing job applications and required assessments because she doesn't have a computer. She is using her cell phone to access employment websites, which is hindering her application process. Once she gets a laptop, she will be able to access the necessary websites and download the required assessments, enabling her to complete the application process successfully. Having her own laptop is also crucial for Nyla as she plans to enroll in online courses at RCBC community college. It will allow her to access her courses and assignments from home, eliminating the need to arrange transportation to the campus computer lab.
