David has encountered a tremendous amount of trauma in his young life. David’s father passed away, and his mother was unable to care for him, so he lived with his grandmother. Tragically, David’s grandmother also passed away, and he ended up in the foster care system. Exposure to substance abuse, domestic violence, and many other traumas have taken their toll on David. He tends to be nervous about new experiences and needs a lot of preparation before being in a new environment. He has chronic stomach aches and struggles academically. Despite all of this, David exhibits strength when his younger siblings need his support. He’s a quiet boy and loves puzzles and other solo activities rather than competitive sports.

After a tough start to life, David has found comfort in the kindness of a distant relative who gave him a place to call home. Now, he lives in a cozy house with a big yard, well-paved sidewalks, and parks nearby. This stability has given David the freedom to enjoy his childhood, something he's always wanted. His biggest wish now is to have his own bicycle so he can explore and experience the simple joys of childhood.
