Vanessa is the oldest of four children and a friendly and sensitive child who enjoys school and her friends. Vanessa is creative and learned to sew and draw in a fashion design class and loves practicing these skills. Vanessa has experienced trauma both personally and in her family of origin and has worked hard with her therapist to learn skills for coping with memories and trauma and practicing skills of self-care. Vanessa has gained a lot of insight and has learned to be resourceful in coping with life. One thing that she enjoys and which she says calms her from the anxiety she experiences is drawing.

Vanessa has big dreams of turning her life around. She is currently pregnant and wants to continue her education. Since she didn't graduate from high school, she has set her sights on obtaining her GED. Having a laptop would greatly assist her in her GED program and enable her to make progress in improving her life.
