A wagon for Ares to carry his medical supplies when he visits the zoo
Ares, 7 years old

CEDARS Youth ServicesAres is the oldest of three brothers. He enjoys playing games on his tablet and playing catch with his family. He also loves sensory toys, especially those that feature lights, different textures, and sounds. Ares has Charge Syndrome, which affects his communication, mobility, vision, and airway, leading to difficulties with swallowing. He is provided with feedings through his G-tube. Overall, Ares is a happy, growing young boy who needs extra assistance.
When Ares recently visited the zoo, his curiosity sparked a desire for adventure that couldn’t be contained. He longed to explore every corner, but the weight of his medical equipment—oxygen tanks, suction devices, G-tube supplies, a trach, and essential first aid items—held him back. Traditional strollers were simply inadequate, making it challenging for his foster parents to manage his needs while navigating the world around them. Imagine Ares’ delight as he peers at the towering giraffes or watches playful monkeys swinging above. A specially designed wagon could change everything for him, opening the door to less accessible, wild spaces like parks and beyond. It would grant him the freedom to bask in the sun, feel the grass beneath his feet, and enjoy the simple joy of being outdoors—all while ensuring his medical needs are met. This small change could create lasting memories, transforming outings into cherished adventures for Ares and his family.
