Alaina loves her teachers and school; she is very confused as to why she has to take off the summer. She is going to summer school but still doesn't want a break from school. She does like to play outside with her sibling. Alaina loves her animals and calls them her best friends.

Alaina has always been afraid of storms. Each rumble of thunder sends shivers down her spine, leaving her feeling vulnerable and alone. Recognizing her fear, her foster mom came up with a comforting idea: a special "storm blanket" just for Alaina. They are considering making it a bit heavier, believing that the extra weight could provide her with a sense of security during those turbulent nights.
