Rin lives as a participant in a semi-assisted living program for Transition-Aged Youth. She is working toward attending college, where she plans to major in creative writing. Rin entered the Department of Human Services (DHS) care as a teen and later moved with a family member. However, she reentered DHS care and has been in the system ever since. By the time she turned 18, Rin had lived in 10 different placements. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, participating in Dungeons & Dragons (DnD) with friends, writing poetry, and reading books.

Rin has recently discovered a passion for photography and is really excited to dive into it as a hobby. She wishes for an instant film camera to kickstart her journey. For her, instant film offers the immediate satisfaction of seeing her photos pop up right after she takes them. She feels that having a physical image in her hands will motivate her to sharpen her skills and push her creative boundaries. Rin imagines capturing those fleeting moments in her daily life—everything from spontaneous shots of her friends and family to the stunning beauty of nature that surrounds her. She’s particularly excited about the idea of putting together a scrapbook filled with her experiences, giving her a tangible way to reflect on her growth and creativity over time. This new hobby is a way to express herself and foster deeper connections with others. She can’t wait to embark on this artistic adventure!
