Community Initiatives/Seen52AD is navigating a number of challenging hurdles in his life, particularly when it comes to mental health. Having aged out of foster care, he remains in touch with his previous foster parent, who provides him with some support. In his free time, AD finds joy in a variety of hobbies. He loves listening to music from all genres, experimenting with fashion styling, playing basketball, and skateboarding. These activities bring him a sense of happiness and fulfillment amid his struggles.
AD has been facing challenges with renewing his Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, leaving him without groceries for an extended period this semester. With many responsibilities piling up, he hadn’t been closely monitoring his budget until he realized he was overextended and would need to wait for his second-semester funds to come in. Fortunately, he is receiving support to manage his budget through December. In the meantime, a Safeway gift card would greatly assist him in shopping at nearby grocery stores while he awaits his EBT renewal. This request has been split into two wishes to allow for a successful shopping trip! This is wish 2 of 2.

"AD, first I just want to say I'm proud of you. When I was in college i found myself in a similar spot. I feel like as men sometimes it's hard for us to ask for help, even when it's obvious we need it. Many theories as to why, but I think it's because we believe we're supposed to be "in control". Well life has taught me, there's not very much that's up to you outside of working to be the best version of yourself and helping others. I hope that for you and that you can pass that on as well Cheers"
