Village of Hope MauiAkoni first came to his adoptive parents at four months old, having no family ties. His mother struggled with drug-related issues, which led to him being taken away from her and his two older siblings. Due to this trauma, Akoni experiences a speech delay and some behavioral challenges. However, he loves playing outside and excels in sports, eagerly looking forward to new opportunities to develop his skills.
Akoni is a shy and reserved boy who has a lot of energy. He excels in sports and enjoys learning new skills on the field. A new set of sports balls would support him in this pursuit and last him for several years as he continues to grow and improve. Imagine him running drills for years to come, becoming the athlete he dreams of being while finding a healthy outlet for all his energy!
