Lucia spent 3 years in the system, the most difficult part for her was never getting treated as an equal. Her foster parents would let her know that she was nothing but a means to money. Throughout her care in the system, what brought her comfort was her phone. Her phone was the only sense of control she had throughout the whole thing. She could text her family, watch whatever she wanted, listen to music, etc. Her favorite things to do are to read, paint, draw, listen to music, and spend time on her phone. She loves BTS, going out to the movies, shopping, makeup, cuddling with her cat, and seeing her family. Her goal in life is to be financially responsible and stable. She wishes to be able to afford a humble lifestyle without constantly crying over bills or cutting back on food to be able to pay bills.

On her days off, Lucia often feels stuck, not sure how to make the most of her free time. She struggles with finding motivation for self-care, especially when she’s feeling down. Money is tight, which makes it tough for her to enjoy the activities she longs for. One of her favorite childhood memories is spending joyful days at Universal Studios. Thinking about those fun times gives her a small spark of hope. Getting a season pass to the park would not only bring back those happy memories but also let her enjoy more adventures on her days off, turning them into special experiences once again.
