Hope + VineMia is a gentle and kind young woman who loves making others feel welcome. She possesses a strong, quiet spirit that has helped her navigate every challenge since aging out of foster care. Mia enjoys making jewelry and spending time with friends. She lost her mother when she was 6 years old which is how she ended up in the foster care system. She is now a mother herself, and she is filled with excitement about giving her daughter the life she wasn’t able to have while growing up.
Mia has aged out of foster care and has been diligently working toward her degree. She juggles her job, cares for her very active 2-year-old, attends school, and volunteers for organizations that support youth who have aged out of the foster system. As a hardworking single mom, it has taken her six years to complete her degree, and she will finally be graduating in May with an Associate of Arts degree! Mia is the first person in her family to graduate and plans to continue her education to earn a four-year degree; she is already enrolled in classes that will begin this fall. She has overcome numerous challenges to reach this point and is thrilled to walk across the stage at graduation. However, without her cap and gown, Mia will not be able to participate in the ceremony and celebrate this significant milestone.
