School Clothes for Jessie's children

Jessie, 35 years old, CO

Foster Alumni Mentors

Jessie is a strong, independent woman who has overcome many challenges in her life. Being a single mom has been something she has enjoyed because her daughter is her world. Jessie was in and out of foster care since she was ten and aged without her family's support. Jessie went to school and received her bachelor's degree and can't wait for the day she gets to start her career. She is a unique, outgoing, and loving woman who enjoys church and crocheting. Jessie is passionate about helping others and is always there to lend a helping hand when needed.

Last fall, Jessie took in a teenage boy who had been living in a terrible situation. Shortly after Jessie was involved in a traumatic car accident, which left her unable to work. As a result, Christmas gifts for her children were minimal because she couldn’t provide for them while recovering from a broken ankle and hip. Now, that she is starting to get back on her feet, she is able to get out more. She has noticed her children's school clothes are a bit small and worn. Jessie would love to go to Target to purchase some new clothing for her children to wear to school, and to enjoy the Target ambience.

"Thank you so much for helping my family with Christmas! I broke my ankle and hip and haven't been able to work and have been stressed about being able to put Christmas together for my family. This will make my kids smile and give us a good Christmas. Without this help I don't know what I would have done. "
