Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption AssociationKeyanna is a wonderfully sweet and caring girl. She loves to braid hair and is extremely talented at it. Being self-taught, she is always looking to improve her skills. She hopes to turn her passion for hairstyling into a career. Additionally, she expresses her creativity through drawing. Keyanna is a great big sister who looks out for her siblings. She ensures they stay on a positive path and encourages them to leverage their strengths while improving upon their weaknesses. Keyanna's mother and primary caregiver passed away, which led her to enter the foster care system. Despite the trauma of her loss, she has been doing remarkably well in her new circumstances. While she sometimes reflects on her memories, she has found effective ways to keep herself busy. Keyanna deeply misses her mother and has adopted many of her mother's traits, which has helped her cope with the loss.
Keyanna uses video tutorials to enhance her hair and braiding skills. She has taught herself many designs and techniques through these videos, so having an iPad would greatly aid her in continuing to improve and learn new skills. Additionally, she enjoys taking pictures of her siblings, a passion she inherited from her mother. These photos and albums are very meaningful to her. She also has digital photos of her mother that she wants to keep handy, as they provide comfort when she misses her. An iPad would also serve as a means of communication with the friends she has made in her new home.
