Destany is incredibly outgoing and humorous and exudes positive energy. She has shown significant growth during her time in foster care. Destany faced substantial challenges during her first year in placement. Her past trauma led to self-harming behaviors and made it difficult for her to adjust to her resource family home. However, she no longer engages in self-harm and is doing well. Destany has developed healthy coping mechanisms for her trauma and now uses positive outlets to thrive. She is actively involved in her church, the school basketball team, and a local skating rink.

Destany is in search of a healthy outlet as she navigates the emotional challenges stemming from the recent loss of a close family friend. A freestanding punching bag will support her journey toward improving her mind, body, and spirit, allowing her to remain on the positive path she has been embracing since her transition into foster care.
