Alena wishes for a laptop that would not only assist her in completing her schoolwork but also keep her connected to the world around her. She believes having her own computer would give her a sense of independence in her, alleviating the little burdens of borrowing her foster mom’s computer. It’s a small wish for her, but it is a step forward in her journey towards self-sufficiency.
