Joseph, 18 years old

Joseph is an incredibly courageous, hardworking, and polite young man. He entered foster care after bravely voicing his story on behalf of his younger siblings. He is a senior in high school, where he earns excellent grades and enjoys playing football, participating in cross country, and being part of the ROTC. During his free time, Joseph loves keeping up with his favorite sports team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and learning how to drive. He currently lives with a foster family but is separated from his three younger siblings, whom he worries about often. Joseph is learning to believe in himself, ask questions, and relax and enjoy the remainder of his childhood.

After overcoming abuse, neglect, and separation from his sisters upon entering foster care, Joseph is ending his senior year in high school on a positive note with a high GPA and plans to attend a local university to study economics. Despite his hardships, Joseph’s work ethic, kindness, gentleness, and motivation to do well for himself have never wavered, and he now needs the tools to help him succeed at his next stage in life. He wishes for a laptop that will enable him to apply for jobs, complete classwork, and work on homework assignments with convenience, whether he’s on campus, in a coffee shop, or at home. Having a laptop is the perfect starting point for Joseph’s success in college and the perfect graduation gift to honor him for a job well done.
