A bike for Jonathon to learn how to ride
Jonathon, 5 years old

CEDARS Youth ServicesJonathon has been reported by the daycare workers to be a very outgoing individual. He consistently greets each child with a “hello” when he arrives and says “goodbye” before he leaves. Jonathon is full of energy and can often be seen moving from one activity to another. He has a fascination with electronics and enjoys taking them apart and attempting to put them back together. Jonathon also loves spending time with his sisters and is usually not far from them when he is at home. Recently, he has been learning how to ride bikes at the foster home. The foster parents believe this could be a wonderful opportunity for Jonathon to develop his independence and strengthen their bond.
***Thanks to a few amazingly generous supporters who are underwriting the cost of select wishes, this wish is just $25 – today and tomorrow only!*** Jonathon entered foster care in January 2025. Since his placement, the foster parents have been encouraging Jonathon and his sisters to spend time outdoors and enjoy nature. Jonathon is very focused on electronics and usually spends his time on a tablet or phone. There are bikes available at the home, but when they got Jonathon on one, they realized it was too small. After trying out the bike, Jonathon took a tumble. The foster parent reported that Jonathon quickly dusted himself off, yelled to the family, “I’m okay!” and promptly got back on the bike. Jonathon's determined attitude toward learning how to ride is a significant positive for both his exercise and for bonding with his family.
