She has faced many challenges in her life, including a lack of stability in her housing situation and ongoing health issues. As a result, her academic progress has been hindered since a very young age. Despite these obstacles, Amanda maintains a positive outlook and remains hopeful for a brighter future. Amanda has a significant history with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) and has experienced multiple out-of-home placements. Recently, she and her two sisters were reunited after the loss of their mother last year.
Amanda and her two sisters have recently moved into a shared living space, and for the first time in her life, Amanda has her own room. She wants to add personality and comfort to her space while also honoring her mother, who passed away last year. To do this, Amanda plans to hang crosses, which were something her mother loved. This addition will provide her with a sense of security and connection to her mother, helping her new space feel like home.
