Glenda arrived in the US with family members who, unfortunately, did not take good care of her. She has been in foster care for several years. She loves her foster family and sees them as her real family. She struggles with self-confidence, but hopefully, in time, she will learn to value herself and move forward positively from this part of her life.

Glenda recently moved into her new apartment in an independent living program with her baby and has also been accepted to her school of choice. It's been such a crazy time in her life, and even though she is super excited about all the positive changes, she is concerned that she doesn't have the funding to furnish her new place. The program provided her with used furnishings, but they are in poor condition. She would love to have a little nightstand to set a lamp on for reading at night.
