A bicycle for David so he can get to work

David, 18 years old

Wish submitted by:

VA DSS - Chesapeake City County

David and his three younger siblings were recently removed from their home and placed in separate foster homes. Previously, David had been the primary caregiver for his siblings, so he was extremely upset about their separation. However, David has come to terms with the circumstances that led to their placement in foster care. He has not allowed the upheaval in his life to deter him from his goal of graduating. Although he worries about his siblings, he understands that they are all safe and no longer homeless.

David recently landed a job in his area, and he couldn’t be happier. With this new opportunity, he can start saving to purchase a car, which has been a long-term goal of his. Currently, he has his learner's permit and is diligently studying for his driver's license. When David entered foster care, he had to leave behind the bicycle he had been using for transportation. Having a bike would provide him with a practical and affordable means of transportation, allowing him to go to school and work easily.
