The Buckeye RanchWhen King first came into foster care at 6 months old, he was a happy and typically developing boy. Along the way, King lost his ability to stand and put weight on his legs. He now wears AFOs on both legs and is engaged in physical and occupational therapies. Despite this setback, King's resilience has allowed him to find other ways to explore his environment. King never lets his disability get him down and joins in all the activities as his foster siblings. King loves to sing, be outside and has a great arm for throwing.
King loves all types of balls: soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball—you name it, he knows and loves it! As King has been learning to stand and walk, balls have proven to be a great motivator for him to kick, throw, and even walk towards them. He loves balls so much that he sleeps with some each night. For his birthday this year, King would really like a ball pit of his own. Not only will he enjoy having hundreds of balls to play with, but the ball pit will also encourage him to stand and climb, helping to improve his mobility.
