Lola was removed from the care of her mother along with her five siblings years ago while crossing the US/Mexico border when the family car was found to be carrying illegal substances. Lola has worked diligently to excel academically and athletically in her high school, all while having several changes in placement.

***Thanks to a few amazingly generous supporters who are underwriting the cost of select wishes, this wish is just $25 – today and tomorrow only!*** Lola discovers that music helps her significantly when she feels anxious about new situations. She is extremely excited to start college in Hawaii this fall, but she is feeling anxious about flying alone, as she has never been on an airplane before. For her upcoming birthday, Lola wishes for a pair of headphones so she can listen to music during her flight to college, as well as while studying throughout her college journey. She also looks forward to enjoying music while she studies once she moves into her new college environment.
