Florence is originally from Ghana. She is a highly intelligent and independent adolescent who takes pride in representing her heritage. Fluent in both English and TWI, the native language of Ghana, where her mother still resides, she balances her love for work and shopping with daily gym visits to maintain her peace. Florence dreams of attending college after graduating from high school, with a keen interest in nursing. With a big heart, she hopes to help her mother gain citizenship so they can reunite with her brother in the United States. Always eager to learn, Florence frequently asks questions to discover how she can become a productive and successful person.

Florence has changed her mind and decided she would like to attend her high school senior prom. She realized that creating memories at prom is an experience she does not want to miss. Currently, Florence is living independently in a program designed for self-sufficiency, working part-time, and maintaining excellent grades in school.
