With an associate’s degree in social work under her belt, she’s excited about the next step—transferring to a university to earn her bachelor’s degree. Life hasn't always been easy for her, especially after aging out of foster care, but she’s tackled those challenges head-on. She takes care of herself and her little sister, who has special needs, and you can see her love for them in everything she does. When she needs a break, Marilyn finds joy in simple pleasures like going for a run, painting, or curling up with a great book. Amidst all the ups and downs, she keeps a positive outlook and embraces life with a smile.

They only have two pans to cook with, but Marilyn dreams of owning a beautiful 16-piece cookware set. With it, she would be able to prepare delicious meals and teach her sister the joys of cooking.
