Marilyn is a lively young woman who's really passionate about making a difference. With an associate’s degree in social work under her belt, she’s excited about the next step—transferring to a university to earn her bachelor’s degree. Life hasn't always been easy for her, especially after aging out of foster care, but she’s tackled those challenges head-on. She takes care of herself and her little sister, who has special needs, and you can see her love for them in everything she does. When she needs a break, Marilyn finds joy in simple pleasures like going for a run, painting, or curling up with a great book. Amidst all the ups and downs, she keeps a positive outlook and embraces life with a smile.

Marilyn doesn’t own any furniture, which means that when she does homework or has dinner, she and her guests have to sit on the floor. She would like to have a table so that her special needs sister, whom she cares for, and her guests can eat comfortably. Plus, Marilyn would appreciate having a table for playing cards, board games, or simply having meaningful conversations. Putting a table in her apartment will help her make it feel more like home.
