Maya has a strong interest in pursuing a career in the healthcare field, specifically in dental work and dental assisting. She developed a passion for dentistry at a young age and is eager to turn that passion into a meaningful profession. At the age of 12, Maya entered the Philadelphia foster care system due to significant trauma and abuse experienced in her early childhood. Before starting college, she lived in a group home, where she began taking steps toward healing and independence. Now in school, Maya is focused on improving herself and building a brighter future, demonstrating incredible resilience and determination every step of the way.

Maya is wishing for an Uber gift card to help her get to an upcoming job interview with a dental assisting company. She’s incredibly excited about this opportunity, as it aligns perfectly with her passion for dental work and her goal of building a career in the healthcare field. This summer job would not only allow her to gain valuable experience but also help her earn money while doing something meaningful. Having reliable transportation to the interview would mean so much to Maya and bring her one step closer to turning her passion into a lifelong profession.
