Onyx is a strong young woman with a talent for cooking, sewing, and artistry. She is studying culinary arts to become a chef and hopes to work as an event planner and caterer in the future. After living with various family members, Onyx entered foster care in high school and experienced life in multiple foster homes. She eventually enrolled at North Carolina A&T State University but faced medical and mental health challenges that led her to drop out. Since then, she has focused on finding stability and caring for herself. After securing her own housing, she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes during the COVID-19 pandemic and is actively managing her health. She completed a year-long internship with the InterFaith Food Shuttle, where she earned her ServSafe certification, reigniting her passion for cooking and serving others.

Onyx has had a passion for cooking for years and is now pursuing her dream of graduating from culinary school. She is enrolled at Auguste Escoffier Culinary School, and as part of her studies, she needs to prepare meals at home. To complete her recipes and training, she could really use this set of oven-safe pans!
