Elijah is full of energy when he is with his closest friends and foster care workers. He is currently living in an extended foster care housing program, where he is learning to manage independent living. Elijah has faced trauma that has led to daily struggles with anxiety. By participating in therapy services, he has explored various coping skills to help him manage his anxiety. After a long journey of trying different techniques, he has found that playing musical instruments and using fidget tools are the most effective ways to cope.

Elijah shared that playing the guitar is his main way of calming down when he feels anxious. He had the chance to play one of his friend's guitars, which helped him stop dwelling on his past. His favorite song to play is "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. He wants to learn new songs but hasn’t had the opportunity to own a guitar.
