Mariah is a natural leader and a very bright young woman. Although she lives in a residential facility, she makes good use of her time by volunteering in the kitchen during the week. She is working hard to regain custody of her child while also focusing on catching up with her studies and improving her parenting skills. Mariah reports that her favorite hobby is spending time with her child whenever possible.

Mariah really wants a new pair of shoes. After working in a kitchen every day, her only pair has suffered significant wear and tear. The soles have become so worn that they are completely smooth on the bottom. She has always wanted a pair of Converse sneakers and hopes to upgrade to a better pair than the ones she currently has.
