Cara is a resilient young woman who aged out of foster care at 18. Despite experiencing homelessness, she has fought for custody of her brother and is currently working as a waitress while studying to become a registered nurse. After the tragic loss of her sister in a car accident last year, Cara dreams of starting a program in South Carolina to support foster youth. An artist and aspiring author, she is writing a book about her journey to achieve her goals and give back to others.

Cara is a survivor who has overcome unimaginable hardship from being trafficked by her parents to entering foster care. Through it all, she stayed strong for her siblings, always putting their needs first. Recently, she achieved a major milestone by securing her own apartment, pouring every last dime into building a safe place to call home. A gas gift card would relieve a huge burden by helping her get to work and maintain the stability she’s fought so hard for. This support would mean more than fuel; it would be a powerful reminder that she’s not alone on her journey forward. This request has been split into two wishes. This is wish 2 of 2.
