Jayla is a bold and spirited young teenager in foster care whose confidence lights up every room she enters. Whether she’s sketching in her notebook, flying around the roller-skating rink, or making her friends laugh at the pool, Jayla throws her whole heart into the things she loves. She proudly reminds everyone that she’s the “older” twin—by five minutes—and carries that title with the kind of leadership that makes others naturally look up to her. Now living in foster care, Jayla has had to be braver than most, learning to speak up for herself in unfamiliar spaces and hold onto who she is, even when the world around her feels uncertain.

Jayla wants LED lights to decorate her bedroom, hoping to make it more fun and personal. Since entering foster care, she hasn’t had much control over her living space. However, she believes that even small changes can help make her room feel like a true reflection of herself.
