Makoa’s path hasn’t been an easy one. He’s been in foster care twice, and after being adopted, he returned to the system when his adoptive parents relinquished their rights. Still, he’s faced every challenge with remarkable resilience. He’s smart, funny, and wise beyond his years, and he’s not afraid to work hard!

Makoa is an athletic, determined young man who has found a therapeutic outlet in boxing and training, saying that it helps him clear his head and work through life’s challenges. Currently, Makoa trains at the gym each week, but he dreams of having his own boxing bag at home so he can practice anytime. He’s about to join the football team and plans to use boxing to stay strong and game-ready.
