An amp for Ronnie who has taught himself to play guitar
Ronnie, 16 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
Voices for Children - RiversideRonnie entered foster care after experiencing physical abuse from his stepfather and living in an environment where his mother, due to ongoing mental health struggles, was unable to meet her children's basic needs. Despite the trauma of his early childhood, Ronnie has developed into a quiet, polite, and determined young man. He excels in school, earning strong grades and receiving praise from his teachers. Ronnie has also found healthy ways to connect with others; he is socially engaged with his peers and is an active member of his school’s wrestling team, where he demonstrates discipline and teamwork. Ronnie's resilience is evident in all areas of his life, and he continues to move forward with strength and grace.
Ronnie is a resilient and talented teenager who has spent nearly eight years in foster care. Despite the many challenges he has faced, he discovered a creative outlet through music by teaching himself to play the electric guitar. His guitar has become more than just a hobby for him; it serves as a source of comfort, expression, and identity. Ronnie is eager to grow as a musician and wants to continue improving his skills. However, he currently lacks a functioning amplifier, which limits his ability to practice and progress. A new amp would not only enhance his learning experience but also support his passion and dedication to music.
Voices for Children - Riverside requests this wish for Ronnie.

"Hey Ronnie - I taught myself to play guitar when I was 16 as well! Keep plugging away, practice, and join a band! There is nothing like it. I've been in bands my entire adult life! Learning to be a musician will also help in school - something about the memorization and mindframe, I can't explain it - but it makes some school easier. Enjoy!"
