Shopping for Sierra to pick out some new clothes

Sierra, 18 years old, PA

Support Center for Child Advocates

Sierra was recently approved for independent housing after turning 18. She has transitioned to independent living with grace and maturity. Currently, she is attending a credit recovery program and is expected to graduate with her GED. In addition to her studies, Sierra works part-time at Burger King. Since being removed from her mother’s care in 2021, life has been filled with ups and downs. However, Sierra remains resilient and is determined to create a better life for herself and her future.

Sierra wants to go shopping for some new clothes. She reports that in her previous home, her resource parent often did not provide her with much clothing, leaving her in need of apparel. Now that she has recently moved into her new apartment, she is hopeful that her wish for some retail therapy and new clothes will be fulfilled. Currently, Sierra is using her paychecks to cover essential expenses like food, utilities, her cell phone, transportation, and items for her new home. While she is being fiscally responsible with her finances, she still needs new clothing. This wish has been divided up so that Sierra can get some great new outfits. This is wish 2 of 2.
